Many things can cause excess hair growth
including; heredity, hormone levels,
medications, temporary hair removal methods
(i.e. waxing, tweezing, threading, etc.), and
illnesses. It is also common for women to have
unwanted hair growth during puberty,
pregnancy, and menopause.
Electrolysis involves the insertion of a fine
probe into each individual hair follicle, and a
small amount of current is applied,
destroying the papilla (the blood supply to
the hair). When the dermal papilla is
completely deactivated, no further hair
growth can occur.
Yes! Electrolysis has had a history of safe and
effective hair removal since 1875. Our
equipment is sterilized before each treatment
and we use a brand new sterilized probe for
each session so there is never any chance of
cross-contamination.
There is no pain associated with inserting the
probe into the hair follicle. The Galvanic
Current and the Blend both feel like a
stinging, nagging pain and the High Frequency
Current can be a bit sharper at times.
Sessions will vary based on the amount of hair
you have and your pain tolerance level. The
more you are able to tolerate, the more work
we can accomplish! Multiple sessions are
required due to hair growth cycles and follicle
density.
Temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness
are common. Rarely, scarring or
hyperpigmentation can occur if aftercare
isn’t followed.
